I. Introduction

We first want to thank you for volunteering to help beta test Printer's

Apprentice 7.0. Testing software is not always enjoyable, but in the 

long run you will have played a significant part in the development of

this product. You also get an early look at some pretty neat stuff!





II. How the beta program works

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Shortly we will be releasing the first test version of PA 7.0. When it is 

posted on our web site, we will email you the file address. The product comes 

in a ZIP file with the following  files:



	setup.exe	PA 7.0 setup program

	readme.txt	Always check this out

	betareadme.txt	The readme file for beta testers

	changes.txt	List of changes from version to version

	bugsubmit.txt	Use this form to email us bug reports



You just need to unzip the file, read the text files and run the 

setup program. If you don't want to wipe out your old Printer's Apprentice,

you can install the software to a different directory. Then you are ready

to go.



We strongly recommend you read all the associated text files prior to 

installing the software. We also recommend reading the help file sections

about font grouping. This is a new feature in PA and you should read about

it first so you know what the features and limitations of the groups are.



Each time a new version comes out, you will be notified via the email list. 

If you find you don't have to time to evaluate the betas, please let us know. 

We can easily remove your name so you don't receive future mailings.

III. Submitting a bug report

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Right now we are looking for general bugs in the user interface and the 

printing engine. We still have time for suggestions and will incorporate them 

if time permits. But our #1 goal is to get the interface as stable as

possible.



To submit a bug report, please use the BUGSUBMIT.TXT form enclosed in 

the ZIP file. This will make it much easier for us to track bugs and

which ones get fixed.
